Creating a Route Using the Map

After locating the desired area on the map, you can use EarthaMapsä to create a route.

You can set a Route Start and Route Finish by using either the map or the Directions tab.

To set a Route Start and Route Finish using the map:

1.    Locate the spot on the map where you want to start your route.

2.    Select the Set Start option in the Click Map to list box which appears to the right of the map.

3.    Click the desired spot on the map. The point at which you click becomes the Start for your route and the Route Start symbol appears on the map.

4.    Locate the spot on the map where you want to finish your route.

5.    Select the Set Finish option in the Click Map to list box which appears to the right of the map.

6.    Click the desired spot on the map. The point at which you click becomes the Finish for your route and the Route Finish symbol appears on the map along with the highlighted route.

7.    Click the Directions tab to display the directions for your route.

§    To change the start or finish location for your route, click the Change My Start or Change My Finish button.

§    Locate the spot on the map where you want the new Route Start or Route Finish for your route.

§    Select the Set Start or Set Finish option in the Click Map to list box which appears to the right of the map.

§    Click the desired spot on the map. The point at which you click becomes the new Route Start or Route Finish and a new route is generated.

§    Click the Start Over button to create a different route.

NOTE:

Your new directions appear under the Directions heading. Directions include Route Start and Route Finish, length, time, and type of route calculated, and the number of itinerary points. A text box shows directions within numbered itinerary points.
