Locating a Place

EarthaMapsä lets you search for and locate places throughout the United States quickly and easily.

To locate a Place:

1.    At the bottom of the map display screen, click the Find tab to display the Find dialog box.

2.    Select Placename from the Search By drop-down list box. A list of search criteria formats appears below the list box.

3.    Type the name of the city or town you wish to find in the Search For text box. To limit your search to a single state, follow the placename with a comma and the two-letter postal abbreviation for the state (for example, Yarmouth, ME).

4.    Click the Search button.

5.    If EarthaMaps finds an exact match, a map of the location appears.

§    If EarthaMaps is unable to find an exact match for your criteria, a list of the closest matches appears within the Please Choose list box. Select the desired item from the list and then click the View button to view the map.

§    If none of the items match the place you want to locate, click the Change My Search button to begin a new search.
